Istanbul

If two cultures meet, different conceptions and theories interact. In German we talk about two images of the world (Weltbilder) that meet. So cultural exchange means also to merge images, imaginations, ideas.

Istanbul shows an interesting merging situation between to continents. This metropolis is a location, where two cultures meet, that not only have yet coexisted for 500 years, but have also influenced each other. It would be an ideal place where the Imachinations could react on that situation of cultural interference - perhaps as a large projection at night that could be seen from both sides of the Bosporus.

In this way the Imachinations could also function as a visual comment to the current debate of the European Union, if Turkey belongs to the cultural space of Europe.
