The cycle Fisch presents a new kind of luminescent self-portraits of seafishes. Depending on their origin traces of bioluminescent bacteria keep on the skin of certain specimen of seafishes. Under special conditions colonies of bacteria grow and give in darkness a soft glow to the fishes.

Der Zyklus Fisch zeigt eine Art leuchtendes Selbstportrait von Meeresfischen. Je nach Gewässerherkunft vermehren sich Spuren von Leuchtbakterien auf frischem Fisch und lassen diesen in der Dunkelheit schwach glimmen.

The self-portraits are created exposing a fish in total darkness to slide film and bending by hand the sheet film around the fish.

It is a tactile light piece. Especially the contact zones are represented with the highest concretion. Adhering scales and chemical reactions leave further traces of the physical encounter.

Die Selbstportrait entstehen, indem bei vollkommener Dunkelheit ein großes Blatt Farbdiafilm um den Fisch geschmiegt wird.

Es ist eine taktile Lichtarbeit, bei der sich insbesondere die Berührungsstellen in höchster Konkretion darstellen. Festgeklebte Schuppen und chemische Reaktionen zeugen darüber hinaus von der physischen Begegnung.
